Mr Tan Kiat How is the Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) and the Ministry of Health (MOH). At MDDI, his focus is on strengthening Singapore’s cybersecurity ecosystem and capabilities, as well as ensuring the national digital infrastructure is future ready and resilient. Mr Tan also led the development of the Digital Economy Blueprint to empower the digital transformation of businesses in the age of Artificial Intelligence and to expand job opportunities for Singaporeans. At MOH, Mr Tan is driving the use of technology to support the healthcare workforce, especially through the use of Artificial Intelligence and automation to improve healthcare outcomes and efficiency. Mr Tan is also leading efforts to strengthen the outreach to seniors as part of the Ministry’s push to enhance community health. Mr Tan also chairs REACH, the lead agency in facilitating whole-of-government efforts in engaging and connecting with Singaporeans on national and social issues close to their hearts, as well as the National Translation Committee. Mr Tan had also previously served in the Prime Minister’s Office as Minister of State and in the Ministry of National Development as Senior Minister of State. Prior to entering politics, Mr Tan spent close to 20 years in various technology leadership role in the public service. He began his career as an IT consultant in the Ministry of Education, under a National Computer Board scholarship. He held several appointments in the then-Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, before moving to the Ministry of Finance to head its economic programmes department. Mr Tan started the Pioneer Generation Office, which is now known as the Silver Generation Office. Under his leadership, the Pioneer Generation Office mobilised 3,000 volunteers to reach out to almost 500,000 seniors within two years as part of the Pioneer Generation Package. Mr Tan subsequently took on leadership roles as Deputy Secretary in the then-Ministry of Communications and Information, before he was appointed as the Chief Executive of the Infocomm and Media Development Authority. As a computer engineer by training, Mr Tan has a passion for using technology to enhance the lives of Singaporeans. He led the shaping of the national cybersecurity masterplan and championed a more digital economy and society, including the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence, roll-out of 5G mobile networks, and launch of the SG Digital Ambassadors Programme. He helped to develop the Intelligent Nation 2015 blueprint and drove the implementation of the nationwide fibre-to-the-home broadband infrastructure. Mr Tan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Computer Engineering in 2001. He also holds a Master’s degree in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University. Mr Tan is married with two children. In his spare time, Mr Tan enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family and rescued dogs.

Chief Executive, GovTech Singapore
Wei Boon is Chief Executive of the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), the lead agency driving Singapore’s Smart Nation initiative and public sector digital transformation. He is passionate about enhancing the digital ecosystem to accelerate Singapore’s digital transformation. Prior to joining GovTech, Wei Boon served as the Chief Executive of Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT) at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), where he led R&D in infocomm and infosecurity technologies for government agencies to support national security needs. He also held several key positions within MINDEF, including Director of Technical Projects, where he helped deliver critical capabilities for the defence and security sector. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2015. Wei Boon is a PSC scholar with a Master of Information Systems Management (Highest Distinction) from Carnegie Mellon University, USA, and a Bachelor of Information Science from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. In 2022, he completed the Stanford Executive Program.

Aamir Lakhani is the Global Director of Threat Intelligence and Adversarial Artificial Intelligence Research, focused on turning real attacker behavior into practical detection, automation, and resilience programs that hold up in messy enterprise environments. With more than 20 years in cybersecurity, he has led global threat intelligence initiatives, built security architectures for complex systems, and supported teams defending Fortune 500 organisations, public sector entities, and high consequence national security environments.

Alissa “Dr. Jay” Abdullah is Mastercard’s deputy chief security officer. In this role she leads the Emerging Corporate Security Solutions team and is responsible for protecting Mastercard’s information assets as well as driving the future of security. Dr. Jay joined Mastercard in 2019 after serving as the chief information security officer of Xerox where she established and led a corporate-wide information risk management program. She also served as the deputy chief information officer of the White House where she helped modernize the Executive Office of the President's IT systems with cloud services and virtualisation. She currently hosts Cybercrime Magazine’s Mastering Cyber podcast and is a cybersecurity lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Information. Dr. Jay is also a former member of Smartsheet’s Board of Directors. Dr. Jay holds a PhD in Information Technology Management from Capella University, a master’s degree in Telecommunications and Computer Networks from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Savannah State University.

Bryce is Head of Security SA for APJ, and is responsible for helping customers build secure, reliable solutions with AWS. Bryce has spent the last 25 years helping organizations build sustainable security capabilities and reduce the harmful impacts of cybercrime. Prior to joining AWS, Bryce held security leadership roles in financial services and the cyber security industry. At his prior role, he headed the security architecture, consulting and engineering functions at Standard Chartered Bank as they underwent a multi-year security and cloud transformation. He has also had stints as the APJ CTO for cyber security firm FireEye, where he counselled governments, militaries, companies, and corporate boards in their approach to cyber security; and at UBS Group, where he spent 10 years building their security and technology risk capabilities, including four years as the Group Security CTO, where he was responsible for incorporating security into their enterprise architecture. Bryce holds a Master’s degree in computer science with a thesis in cryptography from The University of Auckland. Bryce has lived and worked in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, and now lives in Singapore.

Steering Google Cloud's ‘Office of the CISO’ in the Asia Pacific, Daryl works with CISOs, CIOs, CROs, regulators and government officials to elevate cybersecurity maturity at both a national and global level. The ‘Office of the CISO’ is part of Google’s internal security team, and is comprised of former CISOs tasked with advocating for better cybersecurity, AI risk and digital trust outcomes. Daryl has 30 years of technology experience including an initial 8 years in the Australian Public sector in Canberra, followed by 9 years in Banking in Sydney and Singapore, and 11 years as a Partner at KPMG Management Consulting. While at KPMG Singapore, Daryl founded and led the Cyber Consulting practice, growing the team to over 120 cyber consultants and leading 5 Partners (owner-operators). At Deutsche Bank, Daryl’s last role was as global head of Program Management Office for the Global Banking IT division, overseeing governance for a €500M portfolio and 150 project managers based in Singapore, Frankfurt, London and New York. Daryl began his career working in the Australian Federal Government in Canberra as an outsourced technology contractor at the Australian Customs Service, followed by positions with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Home Affairs/Immigration and Department of Veterans Affairs. Daryl is a Past President of ISACA Singapore and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Singapore Management University - Singapore Institute of Director's Directorship Program.

Gerasimos Marketos is a product executive with extensive experience spanning high-growth startups and NASDAQ-listed companies, operating at the intersection of cybersecurity, data, and product development. His work consistently focuses on building scalable platforms, translating complex technical capabilities into customer value, and enabling high-performing teams. He currently serves as Chief Product Officer at Hack The Box, the world’s leading cybersecurity upskilling platform, supporting individuals, enterprises, and academic institutions globally. In this role, he leads product strategy and execution across the platform, driving the evolution of hands-on learning, enterprise readiness, and emerging areas such as AI security. Previously, Gerasimos led fraud product initiatives at Integral Ad Science, where he applied AI and machine learning to detect large-scale botnet activity and systemic abuse in the digital advertising ecosystem. Earlier in his career, he served as a fraud subject matter expert at NICE Actimize, partnering with leading US financial institutions to design and deploy advanced, ML-driven detection frameworks for unauthorized and high-risk activity. Gerasimos holds a Ph.D. in spatiotemporal data management and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications in spatiotemporal data warehousing and machine learning. He also holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Informatics.

Guang Yao is a Malware Analyst at the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT). He specialises in analysing sophisticated malware and developing automated analysis workflows. At the same time, he bridges the gap between manual analysis and automation, creating tools and processes that turn sophisticated malicious code into actionable threat intelligence. Passionate about artificial intelligence (AI), Guang Yao is experimenting how AI can be applied to reverse engineering to boost productivity.

With nearly 18 years of experience in cybersecurity, Hong Joo is known for his risk-managed and practical approach to safeguarding digital assets. His expertise spans red-teaming, cyber defense, threat intelligence, and enterprise security. He began his cybersecurity journey as an academic at a polytechnic, where he developed an intrusion detection module and gained hands-on experience in firewall administration, security products, and penetration testing for wired and wireless networks. Hong Joo later joined the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT), an agency of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), where he deepened his technical expertise in red-teaming, cyber defense, and enterprise security. He played a key role in building cybersecurity capabilities, conducting architecture reviews, and developing governance frameworks and policies to strengthen the organisation’s security posture. Now leading the CDOI division at GovTech’s Cyber Security Group, Hong Joo is driving a transformation in threat monitoring. He focuses on making threat intelligence actionable and enhancing cybersecurity capabilities across the government sector. Hong Joo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Science in Communication Software and Networks from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Jon Clay has worked in the cybersecurity space for over 30 years. Jon uses his industry experience to educate and share insights on all TrendAI externally published threat research and intelligence. He delivers webinars, writes blogs, and engages customers and the general public on the state of cybersecurity around the world. An accomplished public speaker, Jon has delivered hundreds of speaking sessions globally. He focuses on the threat landscape, cybercriminal undergrounds, the attack lifecycle, and the use of advanced detection technologies in protecting against today’s sophisticated threats. Within TrendAI, Jon has held roles as sales engineer, sales engineering manager, training manager, product marketing manager, and director of global threat communications before becoming Vice President, Threat Intelligence.

Pei Yuen is the Group CISO at Singtel Group. In this role, he drives the overall cyber security agenda and programmes for the Singtel Group of Companies, keeping pace with emerging technologies and shifts in the cyber threat landscape. Pei Yuen has over 25 years of experience in cyber security spanning across sectors such as defence R&D, government, financial, telecommunications and technology consulting. Prior to joining Singtel, Pei Yuen was the Chief Technology Officer for IBM Security in ASEAN, Australia, New Zealand and Korea where he was responsible for driving business and technology strategies to address clients' cyber security challenges across different industries. He also spent a significant part of his career as the Chief Information Security Officer of the Monetary Authority of Singapore with overall responsibility for cyber security and resilience at the central bank, ranging from security architecture, security programme and portfolio management, security assurance, SOC operations as well as governance, risk management and compliance. He was previously a Senior Member of Technical Staff at DSO National Laboratories conducting cyber security research for national defence and a consultant at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore leading critical infocomm infrastructure surety assessments with particular focus on the telecommunications sector.

Steve is a seasoned risk management and corporate governance executive with more than 30 years of business and operational leadership experience. He has served as CEO of Bitsight since 2020, where he guides the company’s financial, operational, and product strategy to strengthen its competitive position in the cybersecurity market. Prior to Bitsight, Steve held senior executive roles at RiskMetrics Group, a premier provider of risk analytics and governance solutions. As Chief Revenue Officer, he was a key member of the executive team that scaled the business, led the acquisition of Institutional Shareholder Services, and successfully took RiskMetrics Group public. During his tenure, RiskMetrics established itself as a category-defining data and analytics platform serving global financial institutions. Following the subsequent separation of ISS into a standalone, private-equity-backed company, Steve served as Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Operating Officer, driving go-to-market execution and overseeing strategic acquisitions that expanded the company’s capabilities and growth opportunities.

His distinguished career includes retiring as a Major General from the U.S. Army, where he gained extensive experience in Department of Defense and Intelligence community operations, providing a deep understanding of security in sensitive environments. A Silicon Valley native, Steve's technical proficiency spans microelectronic integrated circuit design, embedded software development, and end-to-end global communication systems, including secure cloud solutions. He has held leadership positions at companies like Cisco and Alcatel-Lucent, consistently focusing on developing and delivering secure products. His roles encompassed all phases of development, including developer, manager, and director. Steve possesses a proven track record of leading large, complex organisations, including global teams exceeding 2,000 personnel and managing large budgets. He is dedicated to empowering public sector organisations to leverage cloud technologies while ensuring the highest levels of security and compliance.
